So the show started with The Swellers but because of work in the WSU cafeteria i wasn't able to get to Pontiac in time to position myself for any great shoots. The next band was a band from Seattle, WA called This Providence. Kinda a bunch of tools, not going to lie. A MTVU version of the Jonas Brothers. Definitely not for me.
Set Your Goals, a hardcore pop punk band from San Fransisco Bay area. I wouldn't have expected less for them to be amazing live, one of the strangest gathering of people for a pit i have seen at a show yet. I was just thankful that they played my favorite songs "Goonies Never Say Die" while i was literally one foot away from them. Super rad.
Than there was the final act, Motion City Soundtrack. After i heard their first off there latest LP "My Dinosaur Life" i began listening to the obsessively after like a year or two of listening to them at all. The album honestly helped me through an extremely rough patch with someone lost. Just being able to see them perform life just feet away was therapeutic in itself.

This was an amazing night. I had heard of this show about a month before hand and stole a poster out of the library. I had never expected to go to this show, i was still trying to save my money at that time for school. The week before at The South End meetings i heard them mention one of the opening acts as one of the stories Arts and Entertainment was covering. They needed a photographer for the show and i managed to get a Press Pass in the end. This allowed me to to go beyond the crowd barrier, i was next to the stage the entire show. I learned a few things about how the job would work under more professional terms than what I'm used to. I also learned that bouncers are really complete dicks. Also that only being able to shoot for the first three songs of the set is hectic. After all was said and done the writer flaked on the story and was never printer. Hands down one of the coolest moment in my young adult life so far. Epic.
